Christians reach out to Rome’s homeless during coronavirus lockdown

The above video from Rome Reports shows how Christians are trying to lift up Italy’s downtrodden to provide comfort and care during the new coronavirus quarantine.

Pope Francis has donated €100,000 to help support Caritas Italy’s effort to help ensure the poor are supported during the new coronavirus pandemic.

Others are stepping up to protect society’s most vulnerable.

Every night, the Salvation Army takes to the streets to feed the hungry, offer medical attention, and simply provide human contact to those in need.

Meanwhile, men and women from the Vatican’s Office of Papal Charities bring hot drinks, cookies, and perhaps more importantly, company to those forced to sleep rough.

For the people on the receiving end of these charitable efforts, many have said they are most grateful for simply knowing there are still people out there who care.
