How to prepare for Pope Francis’ Mass at National Stadium in Singapore

The Catholic Church in Singapore is preparing for Pope Francis’ upcoming Mass at the National Stadium on September 12, expected to attract 50,000 people.

This event coincides with the feast of the Most Holy Name of Mary and is one of the largest gatherings since the 2021 Catholic200SG celebration.

Catholics are encouraged to fast, confess, and participate in Eucharistic Adoration to prepare spiritually. They are also urged to reflect on the visit’s significance and pray for the Pope and the church.

Strict security will be in place, similar to airport checks. Attendees should arrive early, with screenings starting at 12:30 PM and gates opening at 1:00 PM. Everyone must be seated by 3:30 PM, with gates closing shortly after at 3:45 PM.

Public transportation is recommended due to increased service and limited parking, available only to vehicles with special permits. Dress code requires shoulder-covering tops and below-knee attire.

Affordable food options will be available inside the stadium, and attendees can bring empty metal or plastic water bottles to refill onsite. Glass bottles are not permitted.

The Mass will be digitally supported with resources available on the Pope Francis Singapore website, and for those unable to attend, a live stream will start at 2:30 PM on the Archdiocese’s YouTube channel.
