New rector of Myanmar’s Don Bosco provincialate installed

Father Leo Neng Khan Mang, SDB, was installed as new rector of the provincialate in Anisakan for a three-year term of office

The Don Bosco provincialate in Myanmar has installed a new rector on January 15, announced the Salesian congregation in the country.

Father Leo Neng Khan Mang, SDB, was installed as new rector of the provincialate in Anisakan for a three-year term of office.

The installation ceremony was held with only a few priests, nuns, and lay mission partners attending due to the current political situation in Myanmar.

Father Leo Neng Khan Mang was born on Nov. 6, 1971. He made his first profession on Sept. 24, 1994.

After philosophical studies, he studied theology at St. Joseph Diocesan Major Seminary in Yangon.

He made his perpetual profession on Sept. 24, 2000, and on April 6, 2003, he was ordained as a Salesian priest.

He served as Secretary for Social Communication of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Myanmar for three years.
