The Vatican’s Dicastery for Communication and the Gravissimum Educationis Foundation, under the auspices of the Dicastery for Culture and Education, have launched an educational project that will give “voice” to Catholic university students specializing in media and communication.
The initiative currently involves the collaboration of the Department of Communication at the De La Salle University Dasmariñas in the Philippines and the Department of Media Studies at a university in India.
The project offers Vatican News as a platform for sharing news and media content produced by students “to contribute to greater understanding, knowledge, and appreciation for the cultural richness of the local churches, a reflection of the universality of the Church globally.”
With the theme, “Good Makes Headlines!” reporting will feature multimedia stories on the challenges and hopes from local realities and contexts, and how faith supports efforts to make a better world.
The project also serves as a “learning experience” for students on how to communicate their own local situations to a global world and promote responsible communication that aims to “build up and contribute to the common good.”
