The Apostolic Nuncio to Thailand, alongside Msgr. Daniel Tumiel, participated in the Episcopal Ordination of Bishop Stephen Boonlert Promsena at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in the Diocese of Ubon Ratchathani on Saturday, Feb. 24.

Bishop Philip Banchong Chaiyara led the Holy Mass in a celebration that signified a new dawn for the Diocese of Ubon Ratchathani.

As Bishop Stephen steps into his role, embracing the sacred duties bestowed upon him, “our hearts swell with hope and eager anticipation for the direction and leadership he is set to offer our community,” expressed Archbishop Peter B. Wells, the Apostolic Nuncio to Thailand.

The Nunciature extended its deepest congratulations to Bishop Stephen “on reaching this profound and spiritual landmark in his journey of service”.

“Our congratulations also go out to all the faithful within the Diocese,” the Nunciature added.

The Nunciature urged the faithful to pray for Bishop Stephen, “seeking God’s generous blessings on his new path”.

“May the Holy Spirit’s guidance strengthen him, Christ’s love be his sustenance, and the support of the faithful be his foundation as he endeavors to illuminate our world with Christ’s light, joining hands with us in our collective mission to alleviate the pains of our world,” said Archbishop Wells.
