Photos: Palestinians in Gaza observe Eid al-Fitr amid onslaught by Israel

This Eid al-Fitr, over 2.3 million Palestinians in Gaza are marking Eid al-Fitr amid Israel’s continued assaults, which have taken more than 33,000 lives.

This year’s observance is marred by severe shortages due to a blockade restricting food deliveries and water supplies, alongside deadly air raids.

The situation has prompted a strong rebuke from US President Joe Biden, who has called for a ceasefire and criticized the ongoing military operations as a “mistake”.

The United Nations said that Israeli authorities blocked half of the food convoys intended for famine-threatened northern Gaza in March.

The conflict has led to over 33,360 Palestinian deaths and around 75,993 injuries since October 7, with Israeli casualties from Hamas’s attacks totaling 1,139, including several captives.
