The cardinal urged the country’s new president to look into allegations of political conspiracy behind the attacks

“We are skeptics of our political leaders and their promises,” said Cardinal Ranjith of Colombo

The Church leader said the president and his government “have no moral right to continue office anymore under these circumstances”
