UP Lantern Parade 2018 — The University of the Philippines Lantern Parade showcased colorful floats, twinkling lanterns and festive participants. With this years theme of "Paglaot, Pagdaong" giant lanterns paraded around the academic oval and culminated at the University Amphitheater. December 14, 2018

The celebration of Christmas in predominantly Catholic Philippines is a display of piety, culture, feasts, and, in recent years, commerce.

Preparations for the festivities start as early as September. Christmas lanterns are displayed and Christmas carols played over the radio and public address systems.

Parties are held almost daily highlighted by sumptuous dinners, singing, games, and gift-giving.

The observance of the Yuletide season lasts until the first week of January, earning the Philippines the title of having the longest Christmas season.
