Asian bishops’ communication institute to hold ‘truth forum’

The theme “Guide me in your Truth and teach me” will be discussed by two known Church experts in media and social communication

The Veritas Asia Institute of Social Communications, or VAISCOM, announced that it will hold an online forum on “truth and discipleship” on May May 6, 2022.

The theme “Guide me in your Truth and teach me,” from Psalms 25:5, will be discussed by two known Church experts in media and social communication.

Bishop Paul Tighe, secretary of the Holy See’s Pontifical Council for Culture, and Father Francis Lucas, President and CEO of the Philippine’s Catholic Media Network, will share their views about “living truth as the way to follow Christ.”

Father Lucas is also the president of the Philippine Federation of Catholic Broadcasters.

Bishop Tighe, meanwhile, used to work as secretary of the Pontifical Council for Social Communication. In that capacity, he attended several annual meetings of bishops in charge of social communication in FABC-member bishops’ conferences.

The truth forum will have Bishop Roberto Mallari of San Jose, FABC-OSC chairman, and Bishop Raymond Wickramasinghe, FABC-OSC board member and Bishop of Galle (Sri Lanka) as guest speakers.

VAISCOM is the training and formation arm of the Federation of Asian Bishops’ Conferences – Office of Social Communication.
