The Catholic Sheshan Seminary in Shanghai held a solemn graduation ceremony on June 21, honoring six seminarians from the class of 2019 and participants of its second training course for religious sisters.
During the ceremony, the seminary’s leadership reaffirmed their commitment to forming Church workers who uphold Catholic values and serve both faith and society.
The academic dean and representatives of the seminarians and religious sisters delivered messages on behalf of their respective groups, marking the culmination of their formation journey.
Graduates presented tokens of gratitude to the seminary before Bishop Shen Bin formally conferred diplomas to the seminarians and certificates of completion to the sisters.
The event also featured messages of support from civil and Church authorities, who emphasized the importance of religious formation, lifelong learning, and commitment to integrating religious identity with cultural and national values.
Attendees called for continued prayers for vocations and expressed hopes for the seminary to further develop high-quality Church leaders committed to both patriotism and faith.
The graduation was held amid broader efforts to align religious education in China with traditional culture and national development, reflecting ongoing initiatives to shape clergy and religious workers for service in both the Church and society.
