Pope Leo XIV has appointed three Church leaders from Asia as members of the Dicastery for Communication, the Vatican office overseeing the Holy See’s global media operations.
The Vatican announced the appointments as part of a broader list of new members to the dicastery, which coordinates Vatican News, the Holy See Press Office, and other communication platforms.
The Asian appointees are Cardinal Luis Antonio G. Tagle, pro-prefect of the Dicastery for Evangelization; Cardinal Filipe Neri António Sebastião do Rosário Ferrão of Goa and Damão, president of the Federation of Asian Bishops’ Conferences; and Bishop Marcelino Antonio M. Maralit of San Pablo, head of the federation’s Office of Social Communications.
Other appointees come from Africa, Europe, and Latin America, reflecting the international composition of the body.
