A much-awaited fluvial procession was held on Saturday, September 17, in Naga City, south of Manila to mark the “Solemnity of Our Lady of Peñafrancia,” fondly called by devotees as “Ina” (Mother), the patroness of the Bicol region.

This year also marks the 140th year of devotion to the Divino Rostro (Holy Face of Jesus) and the 312th year of devotion to the Blessed Mother in the region.

Devotion to “Ina” started in 1710 with a small community in the province and has grown and became widespread and has extended even to other parts of the country. (Photos by Jarvis Ivan Sadiua for LiCAS News)
