Filipino Catholics in Manila held the annual “pro-life” gathering dubbed “Walk for Life” for the first time on February 18, 2023, after three years following the prohibition of mass gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The event held from 4 a.m. to 8 a.m. highlighted calls for the protection of the family and the upholding of the sanctity of life.
The annual Walk for Life, organized each year by the Council of the Laity of the Philippines, in collaboration with the Episcopal Commission on the Laity of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines, aims to demonstrate “solidarity in upholding the dignity of life” from conception to natural death.
The theme of this year’s celebration is “SANAOL” or “Synodality, Accompaniment, and Nearness” and “Let’s All Walk Together for Life,” which is taken from the call of Pope Francis for synodality. (Photos by Angie de Silva)
