International League of Peoples’ Struggle (ILPS) has called for global support to resist and push back against the military dictatorship that has plagued Myanmar for three years.
The group highlighted the ongoing struggle for Myanmar and condemned the human rights abuses and atrocities committed by the Tatmadaw dictatorship.
Since the military coup in 2021, Myanmar has witnessed continuous violence, with reports of widespread human rights violations and abuses.
The Burmese people have responded with resilience, engaging in massive protests, armed resistance, and solidarity movements against the oppressive regime, according to ILPS.
In various regions of Myanmar, ethnic nationalities, particularly in Karen and Chin states, have faced village burnings, enforced disappearances, and displacement.
A report by the Chin Human Rights Organization reveals alarming statistics, with one in every five people in Chin State being displaced, reaching up to 120,000 individuals.
The military crackdown has extended to cultural and religious institutions, with arrests and destruction of establishments like churches, leaving Indigenous Peoples with few places of refuge.
“We call on our network and allies to rally their support behind the peoples of Myanmar, mobilize towards contributing towards weakening the Tatmadaw dictatorship, and help in realizing a free Myanmar,” said ILPS.
