IN PHOTOS: Catholics in Vietnam urged to turn Eucharistic devotion into everyday Gospel witness

Catholics in the Archdiocese of Hanoi were urged to make Eucharistic adoration and the Rosary part of daily life and allow prayer to shape their witness to the Gospel.

Father Joseph Tạ Minh Quý, pastor of Hanoi Cathedral Parish, made the appeal during a Eucharistic celebration at Canh Hoạch Parish on Oct. 4.

In his homily, Quý said prayer, Eucharistic adoration and the Rosary allow believers not only to encounter God but also to be transformed from within so they can proclaim the Gospel through their lives.

He linked Eucharistic devotion with the celebration of Our Lady of the Rosary, saying that through Mary and in Mary, believers are invited to contemplate the mysteries of the life of Jesus and recognize God’s loving plan at work in their own lives.

Quý encouraged Catholics to set aside quiet moments each day to return to God through prayer, particularly through the Rosary and Eucharistic adoration.

Taking time away from daily activities for prayer, he said, gives believers an opportunity to reconnect with God, themselves and the people around them.

The priest said silence before the Eucharist allows Catholics to draw spiritual strength from God’s grace as they continue living their faith amid the realities of everyday life.
