The city of San Juan in the Philippine capital celebrated this year a “dry” feast of St. John the Baptist, the city’s patron saint.

Authorities prohibited the traditional splashing of water during the revelry to avoid the risk of contamination and prevent the possible spread of the new coronavirus.

Instead, the image of St. John the Baptist was paraded along the streets of the city with priests joining the parade to bless the faithful.
