Catholic business leaders in the Archdiocese of Saigon were urged to ground their enterprises in faith-driven stewardship, ethical responsibility, and charity.
The call was made during the 2025 Spreading Love program, organized by the Catholic Business Leaders of the Archdiocese of Saigon, held on Dec. 10 in Ho Chi Minh City.
Church leaders addressing the gathering emphasized that business leadership within the Catholic tradition is understood as stewardship rather than ownership.
Enterprise, they stressed, involves responsibility before God and society, calling business leaders to direct resources, influence, and opportunities toward the common good.
Panel discussions during the afternoon focused on the vocation of Catholic business leaders and the role of Christian humanism in economic life.
Participants reflected on the dignity of the human person, the formation of conscience, and the need for justice, integrity, and continual moral discernment in business practice.
The discussions highlighted the view that faith should inform decision-making, particularly in complex economic and social contexts.
The program also featured a blessing of 37 exhibition booths representing businesses from various sectors. Church leaders visited each booth, engaged with entrepreneurs, and blessed their work.
In the evening, the gathering shifted to a communal prayer service centered on charity, solidarity, and hope.
Prayers were offered for communities affected by recent storms and flooding, and video presentations documented the charitable activities carried out by Catholic business leaders over the past year.
A central ritual involving the lighting and sharing of the Paschal candle symbolized the call for faith and hope to be carried into society through concrete action, particularly in service to the poor and vulnerable.
The Spreading Love segment highlighted ongoing charitable initiatives supported by Catholic business leaders, with organizers encouraging continued generosity to expand outreach in the coming year.
Now marking 22 years of charitable and evangelizing activity, and 16 years since the initiative formally adopted the Spreading Love name, the program concluded with expressions of gratitude to benefactors, volunteers, and organizers, reaffirming the call to integrate faith, enterprise, and charity in response to social needs across the archdiocese.
