A Muslim community in the predominantly Catholic city of Marikina on the outskirts of the Philippine capital was among the worst affected by the flooding brought by the onslaught of Typhoon Ulysses (Vamco) on Nov. 12.

LiCAS.news photojournalist Jire Carreon visited the village days after the disaster to give us a glimpse of how the people are trying to cope and rebuild their lives.
